Chair Talk Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 June 2026. Chair Talk is operated by Mightys (contact@mightys.dev).
Chair Talk is an anonymous community for beauty professionals. Unlike most Mightys apps,
Chair Talk is a social product, so it does store the content you post and a small amount of
data needed to run the service. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why. It is
specific to Chair Talk and overrides the general Mightys privacy policy for this app.
1. Who can use Chair Talk
Chair Talk is for adults 18 and older. You must confirm your age before using the app.
2. What we collect
- Anonymous account. When you open the app we create an anonymous account
with a random identifier. You do not provide an email, phone number, or real name.
- Optional pseudonym. If you choose a handle, we store that handle. It is
not linked to your real identity.
- Content you post. The text of your posts and replies, any optional mood
tag, and reactions you give. This content is shown to other users.
- Coarse country. We derive an approximate country (for example "US") from
your network address on the server. We do NOT collect precise location or GPS, and we do not
store your IP address as part of your profile.
- Device and usage data. Standard analytics and crash diagnostics (app
version, device type, events such as opening a screen or posting) via Google Firebase, used to
keep the app working and improve it.
- A recovery secret. A random secret stored securely on your device so your
anonymous account can survive a reinstall. It is not personal information.
3. Content moderation
To keep the community safe, the text of posts and replies is checked before publishing. We
send post and reply text to OpenAI's moderation service to detect harmful content. Reported
content is also reviewed by our team. Moderation is required for the app to function.
4. How we use your data
- To operate the community: show posts, replies, reactions, and mood filters.
- To keep it safe: moderation, handling reports, and enforcing blocks and bans.
- To understand aggregate usage (for example, how many users are in each country) and to
diagnose crashes. Country data is kept only as anonymous aggregate counts.
We do not sell your data. We do not use a real social graph or your contacts.
5. Third parties
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, analytics, crash
reporting, messaging).
- OpenAI (text moderation only).
- TelemetryDeck (privacy-preserving aggregate analytics, described below).
- GIPHY (only if GIF replies are enabled in a future version; GIFs are
fetched from GIPHY with a strict content rating).
5a. TelemetryDeck analytics
Chair Talk uses TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used in aggregate
(for example, how many active users there are, and which features are used). TelemetryDeck is
designed for privacy-first analytics:
- No personal data is collected. We send only anonymous event names (for example
"post.created") and coarse, non-identifying parameters.
- Your anonymous identifier is hashed on your device before being sent, and we apply an
additional app-specific salt so identifiers are further obscured. TelemetryDeck cannot
reverse-identify you from the data it receives.
- Data is not used for cross-app tracking, behavioral profiling, or advertising.
- The purpose is solely to understand aggregate usage (active user counts, feature usage)
so we can improve the app.
You can learn more about TelemetryDeck's privacy approach at
telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
You can disable this analytics by contacting us at
contact@mightys.dev.
6. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account in the app at any time. Deleting your account removes your
profile and recovery data. Posts and replies you made may be removed or disassociated from your
account. Aggregate, anonymous statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.
7. A note on anonymity
Chair Talk is anonymous by design, but no online service is perfectly anonymous. Please do
not post information that could identify you or others, or that you are not comfortable being
public. Do not share private details about clients or colleagues.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (including Google Firebase security rules and access
controls) to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your choices
- Delete your account in-app to remove your data.
- Block users to stop seeing their content (and stop them seeing yours).
- Report content for review.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date
above.
