Couchfeed Privacy Policy

Couchfeed is a community app for reality TV fans: per-show feeds, episode threads, polls, and a daily prediction game. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why. Couchfeed is an unofficial fan app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any television network, streaming service, or production company.

1. What we collect

• Anonymous account. When you open the app we create an anonymous account with a random identifier. You do not provide an email, phone number, or real name.
• Fan pseudonym. The app assigns a fun pseudonym shown next to your posts. It is not linked to your real identity.
• Content you post. The text of your posts, replies, polls you create, reactions you give, and your prediction picks. Posts, replies, polls, and reactions are shown to other users.
• Shows you follow and preferences. Which shows you follow, notification preferences, and your prediction streak and score, used to personalize the app.
• Crash and diagnostic data. Standard crash diagnostics via Google Firebase, used to keep the app working.

2. How we use your data

• To operate the community: show posts, replies, reactions, polls, and predictions.
• To run the prediction game: record your picks, compute scores and streaks.
• To send the notifications you ask for (for example "episode starting"), only for shows you follow.
• To keep the community safe: moderation and handling reports.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your contacts or any real social graph. The prediction game is free and points-only; no real money is involved.

3. Third parties

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, crash reporting, messaging).
• Third-party media. Show and cast images are loaded directly from their original public sources (for example network press sites); embedded social posts, where offered, are served by the original platform (for example Instagram or TikTok) through their official embed services, which may receive standard request data such as your IP address.
• GIPHY (GIF search, with a strict content rating, where enabled).
• OpenAI (text moderation only, where enabled).

4. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account in the app at any time, which removes your profile data. Posts and replies you made may be removed or disassociated from your account. Aggregate, anonymous statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.

5. Children

Couchfeed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. A note on pseudonymity

Couchfeed uses pseudonyms by design, but no online service is perfectly anonymous. Please do not post information that could identify you or others. Be kind: gossip about the show, not about private individuals.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including Google Firebase security rules and access controls) to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices

• Follow or unfollow shows to control what you see and which notifications you get.
• Turn notifications off per show and per type at any time.
• Report content for review.
• Delete your account in-app to remove your data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
