The Night Sail
The fleet fishes while the app is closed. Catch is capped by the boats owned and the Night Watch upgrade, which lets the fleet stay out up to three nights before it needs the player back.
Harbor fish market
First Catch is a harbor fish market. The fleet sails at night, weather decides what comes home, and the morning auction is yours to read. Sell fresh, or cure it and wait for a better day.

What it does
Every night the fleet goes out. Every morning the dock finds out what the sea gave back. First Catch is built around that gap: the player does not control the sea, only how the catch gets sold once it is on ice.
Weather sets the terms each day. Calm water fills the nets evenly. A storm scatters the fleet but pays the survivors more. Fog favors the eel and the squid. The morning auction then puts a live price on every crate, and that price moves through the day, so selling the moment the catch lands is a choice, not a default.
The dock grows the same way a harbor actually grows: plank by plank. New berths add boats, a cold store adds ice capacity, a smokehouse lets catch keep instead of spoil, and a night watch keeps the fleet out longer while the player is away. Progress climbs a title ladder from Deckhand to Legend of the Docks.
Key features
Each one is a real decision on the dock, not a timer dressed up as a mechanic.
The fleet fishes while the app is closed. Catch is capped by the boats owned and the Night Watch upgrade, which lets the fleet stay out up to three nights before it needs the player back.
Calm, breeze, fog, and storm each shift which species come home and what the auction pays for them. Tomorrow's sea is previewed a day ahead, so there is time to plan around it.
Every species carries a live price per crate, a percentage move against yesterday, and a short price history. Reading the trend, not just today's number, is how a good sale gets made.
Fresh catch carries a short-lived price premium that fades within a couple of nights. Smoking it in the Smokehouse trades that premium for a stable price that never spoils, to be sold when the market turns.
New Berth adds boats and crates per night. Cold Store adds ice capacity. Smokehouse adds curing slots. Night Watch buys more unattended nights. Each upgrade is bought with coins earned from selling.
A title ladder runs from Deckhand to Legend of the Docks at set net worth thresholds. Lifetime earnings, best single day, days sailed, and a list of completed achievements all sit alongside a ranked harbor board.
Under the hood
Progress runs on a day cycle. Tapping Sail the night sends the fleet out and advances to the next morning, which reports the tally by species (two Crab, one Cod, three Sardine, for example) and the resulting value of the catch now sitting on ice. The size of that catch is capped by the number of boats owned and by the Night Watch upgrade, which lets the fleet keep fishing for up to three nights while the player is away rather than stopping after one, so a few days off does not go unrewarded and does not compound without limit either.
Each day carries a weather state (Calm, Breeze, Fog, or Storm), previewed a day ahead with a short line such as "Fog is coming. It hides the eel and squid, and pays a little more." Weather shifts both which species the fleet brings in and what the morning auction pays for each crate. The auction screen shows a live price per crate, the percentage move against yesterday, and a price history graph running back several days, so a sell decision is reading a trend rather than reacting to one number.
Every crate is a hold decision. Fresh catch carries a short-lived price premium that fades within a couple of nights, shown directly on the catch detail sheet ("Premium fades in 2 nights"). The alternative is smoking it in the Smokehouse dock upgrade, which trades that premium for a price that holds and does not spoil, to be sold whenever the market turns. Coins earned from selling fund dock upgrades (New Berth, Cold Store, Smokehouse, Night Watch); a second currency, pearls, is spent at the Harbormaster's Office. Net worth pushes the player up a title ladder from Deckhand to Legend of the Docks, tracked alongside lifetime earnings, best single day, days sailed, and a Harbor Board that ranks net worth against a roster of named captains.
Fair by design
Offline-first, syncs when convenient
The fleet, the market, and the dock are tracked on the device first. First Catch syncs when the device is back online rather than needing a live connection to keep playing.
No energy bars, no forced waits
The pace is set by the tide and the weather, not by a cooldown timer built to sell a skip. There is nothing in the dock that only opens once a clock runs out.
No pay to win
The dock, the fleet, and the harbor board can all be built up through play and patience alone. Coins and pearls both come from fishing and selling, not exclusively from a store.
A calm, cozy harbor
The stated content is a cozy dock, not a combat game: no violence, no gambling mechanics dressed up as a market.
