Tumbler app icon: the brass spindle and dial of a vault door

Daily safecracking puzzle

One safe a day. The whole world racing to crack it.

Tumbler gives everyone the same safe every day: a set of small, tactile puzzle modules mounted on a vault door. Every rule is printed right on the door. No hidden tricks, no luck. Read the clues, apply the rules, and crack it faster than everyone else.

What it is

Every rule is printed right on the door

Study the door: the serial plate, the lamps, the wax seal, the gauge, the engraving. Each module shows its own rule in plain sight, so solving one is never about finding a hidden trick, only about reading carefully and applying the rule that is already there. Wires to cut, dials to tap, keys to press in order, valves to open, pins, glyph rings, switches, keycards: deduce the one correct move for each module, get them all right, and the safe swings open.

A wrong move costs seconds, never the run, and a hint always explains exactly how a module's rule applies that day, so every safe finishes and every safe teaches something. Two safes a day: Easy, three modules for a gentle morning ritual, and Expert, five modules with deeper deductions.

The same safe reaches every player in the world on a given day, which is what makes the race real. Keep a streak alive, compare a fastest crack against the world on Game Center leaderboards, and share a time with one tap.

The modules

Eight kinds of mechanism, one rule each.

Every module is tactile, visible, and governed by a rule printed right on the door.

Wires

Cut the one wire the day's rule points to, and leave the rest untouched.

Dials

Tap a dial to the exact position the day's gauge or engraving calls for.

Keys

Press a set of keys in the order the day's rule sets out, not by trial and error.

Valves

Open the valves that the day's pressure reading actually calls for.

Pins and Glyph Rings

Align pins and rotate glyph rings to the pattern the door's engraving describes.

Switches and Keycards

Flip switches and slot a keycard the way the serial plate and wax seal indicate.

Under the hood

Why the safe is the same for everyone

A daily seed generates the same vault door, the same rules, and the same correct moves for every player that day, so a fastest crack is a genuine comparison rather than a different puzzle wearing the same skin. Five years of daily safes are already built and stored inside the app, so a long streak never runs out of new doors to face.

Every module reads its rule from the door itself, printed on the serial plate, the gauge, or the engraving, rather than from a hidden manual. A wrong move is tracked and costs seconds, never the run, and a hint explains exactly how that day's rule applies to that module rather than simply revealing the answer.

The whole game works fully offline once a day's safe has loaded. Game Center handles the leaderboards for fastest crack, longest streak, and total safes cracked, so none of that depends on a separate account.
