What it does

A shortlist built from taste,
not a bestseller list

There are more than 19,000 perfumes on the market, and most fragrance apps deal with that number by showing whatever sells the most. ScentAdvisor starts from a shorter quiz instead: vibe, occasion, season, budget, gender. The catalogue gets weighed against those answers rather than against everyone else's cart, so the shortlist someone sees is built around their own taste first.

ScentAdvisor is for anyone replacing a bottle that just ran out, shopping for a gift, or trying to find a signature scent without reading forums for a week. It launched in English and German, added French shortly after, and runs the same matching engine and live price feed regardless of storefront.

Two ideas run through the app. First, a match should explain itself: every recommendation states which quiz answers it satisfies, not just a star rating. Second, price comparison should happen before checkout, not after: the same bottle can vary by tens of euros between retailers, and ScentAdvisor surfaces that gap before anyone taps buy.

Key features

Every feature earns its place.

Each one solves a concrete question about buying a fragrance, not a checkbox on a feature list.

20-Second Scent Quiz

Five short questions on vibe, occasion, season, budget, and gender. No perfume vocabulary required, just answers about how someone wants to feel and what they want to spend.

Live Price Comparison

Prices from Europe's major fragrance retailers sit side by side and refresh daily. One tap opens the cheapest listing in the browser someone already checks out with.

AI Chat Advisor

Ask in plain language, like what smells like Sauvage but costs less, and get a specific answer with real perfumes named, not a generic buying guide.

Your Fragrance Collection

Mark a bottle as owned, wishlisted, tried, or never again. The collection becomes a running record of what actually worked, not just what got bought.

Rich Perfume Catalogue

Every entry carries a full notes pyramid, an accord breakdown, and performance bars for longevity and projection, drawn from a catalogue of more than 19,000 perfumes.

Scent DNA

Add a handful of favorites and ScentAdvisor builds a profile of the accords and families someone keeps returning to, then uses it to sharpen future matches.

Under the hood

How it actually works

The quiz doesn't ask about notes or fragrance families directly. It asks about vibe, occasion, season, budget, and gender, and ScentAdvisor's matching engine scores the full catalogue against those answers rather than against sales data. Each result on the match screen lists the specific quiz answers it satisfies (matches your warm vibe, within budget, perfect for spring) so the reasoning stays visible instead of hidden behind a single score.

The AI chat advisor takes a plain-language question, something like what smells like Sauvage but costs less, and returns named perfumes rather than a generic style guide. Scent DNA works the other direction: mark a handful of favorites and ScentAdvisor builds a taste profile from their shared accords and families, which then feeds the home discovery feed so it keeps adjusting as a collection grows.

Prices are pulled from Europe's major fragrance retailers and refreshed daily, broken out by bottle size so a 50ml and a 100ml of the same perfume are compared separately. A purchase always happens in the retailer's own checkout: tapping buy opens the listing in the device browser rather than inside ScentAdvisor, so no payment details pass through the app. The catalogue itself runs over 19,000 perfumes, each carrying a notes pyramid, an accord breakdown, and performance bars for longevity and projection. ScentAdvisor launched in English, added German, then French, with the matching engine and price feed identical across languages.
